inspire and empowering wendy the lady of the moment

“NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE’
We were first introduced to Wendy by the Stragglers running club and than we met Wendy at Proudly Strandfontein. Here story was so inspiring that we set up an interview on that day.
Crazy Bee Clothing was founded by Wendy Quickfall in 1999 on the specific needs of Corporate and Leisure Wear in the clothing manufacturing Industry and was registered as a close corporation in 2004. The company specializes in producing school wear, sportswear, church uniforms, burial society uniforms and much more. At Crazy Bee Clothing we have a totally hands-on approach to our business and our clients come first. Our vision is to deliver intelligent clothing and to address the ever changing and complex challenges through a consultative approach.
It’s been a hard road running the business for over 18years, with all the challenge and rewards entrepreneurship bring. Due to retrenchment Wendy made a decision with her family to start her own clothing business; she took her packages and starts to work from home. At the time it was only Wendy, her mother and another employee called Cynthia that was creating the garments in her dinning room.
The vision and especially her values was setup from day one. The house is where everything happens, every room got used and as time went on and more people started to work for her, the trust and mutual respect is what makes her team so great to work with.
Training started with a company called Floattex; they assisted start-up businesses at that time, teaching Design, cutting and sowing. Wendy also had to learn new skills like, cutting, fixing industrial machine, just being a Jack-of all-trade to the business, she and her mom had to plan, work on ideas and action them, deal with work coming back, work smart at improving their products. Sales started at the flea market, She needed to leave at 06h00 with her kids, packed the car, get signed in at the market, set up, stand whole day, making sure the kids get feed, do a sale, sometimes leaving without making a sale, packed up to go home, that was very challenging and frustrating.
Sales started to pick up when Wendy started going to schools, doing uniforms; she was a natural at promoting her products to customers, getting into her car with her samples and driving. Word of mouth got her more sales, she than venture out to other areas, schools and also did some clubs uniforms. Wendy do sponsorship to community organizations and feedback, testimonial you can see on her website.
She motivates her team by doing and going to place that they’ve never been, buying Easter eggs, or a rose at valentine. Wendy up skill her she to make sure the business grow, her kids is now working with her in the business and she takes time out of her business to plan ways to increase and grow the company. Just recently Wendy’s company bought premises in Strandfontein, clearing out her house and making it a house again for her family.
There have been losses but with the bad comes good. You need to be positive about the day and week, with the help of her family gets easier.
Wendy got a few goals this year, so we going to watch this space and report back soonest.
